Federico F. PeNa has served as a Senior Advisor of the Colorado Impact Fund, a venture capital firm dedicated to supporting Colorado companies that provide consistent investment returns and positive community impact, since April 2014. He served as a Senior Advisor of Vestar Capital Partners from January 2009 until September 2016, and as a Managing Director of Vestar from 1999 to 2009. Vestar is a global private equity firm that specializes in management buyouts, recapitalizations and going private transactions. Prior to joining Vestar, Mr. PeNa served as the United States Secretary of Energy from 1997 to 1998 and the United States Secretary of Transportation from 1993 to 1997. Mr. PeNa served as the Mayor of the City and County of Denver, Colorado from 1983 through 1991, the first Latino to hold that elected office. Mr. PeNa founded PeNa Investment Advisors in 1991 and was its President and Chief Executive Officer from 1991 until 1993. He served in the Colorado House of Representatives from 1979 until 1983 and practiced law for 10 years in Colorado. Mr. PeNa is a Director of Wells Fargo & Company as well as a member of several non-profit organizations.

Sonic Corp. (Sonic) operates and franchises a chain of drive-in restaurants (Sonic Drive-Ins) in the United States. As of August 31, 2008, the Company had 3,475 Sonic Drive-Ins in operation from coast to coast, consisting of 684 Partner Drive-Ins and 2,791 Franchise Drive-Ins. The Company owns a majority interest and the supervisor and manager of the drive-in own a minority interest in each Partner Drive-In. Franchise Drive-Ins are owned and operated by its franchisees. At a typical Sonic Drive-In, a customer drives into one of 24 to 36 covered drive-in spaces, orders through an intercom speaker system, and has the food delivered by a carhop within an average of four minutes. Many Sonic Drive-Ins also include a drive-through lane and patio seating. Sonic Drive-Ins feature Sonic items, such as specialty soft drinks, including cherry limeades and slushes, frozen desserts, made-to-order sandwiches and hamburgers, cheese coneys, hand-battered onion rings, tater tots, salads, and wraps.
